Pets feel pain, so we are determined to make your pets more comfortable no matter what the reason for their pain.
There are many different options when it comes to managing pets’ pain. We have non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which are relatively mild. There are steroids, which often offer relief with their anti-inflammatory effects. There are also controlled substances, which are helpful with post-surgical pain. For arthritis pain, we offer glucosamine tablets and injectable glucosamine, if needed.
Some of these pain medications require blood work. If your pets are having trouble with their kidneys or liver, we must avoid giving them certain medications. It is also important to do follow-up blood work to make sure the medications are not having any adverse effects.
We vow to keep your pets as comfortable as possible. We want to accomplish this by giving the least amount of medication possible, while also monitoring the potential side effects.
